IRL International Truck Centres is looking for a permanent, full-time Service Advisor, reporting to the Manager of Service. This role is responsible for being the key customer contact and main point of reference for the service department. This position will be based in Vernon, BC.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Ensure customer satisfaction through professional and courteous communication
  • Ensure that all the information needed for customer’s repair/warranty work is communicated upon booking their appointment
  • Gain formal written customer authorization for estimated work
  • Update customers if the repairs and estimate require adjusting after initial consult and obtain authorization before proceeding with repairs
  • Agree on timescales for unscheduled work with customers and follow through to completion
  • Collect payments from customers and explain invoice if Service Administrator is out of the office
  • Work closely with the Parts, Sales and Service departments to ensure mutual team success
  • Document jobs into the day planner accurately and thoroughly by loading the workshop to maximize capacity utilization
  • Confirm that all estimated work is correctly specified based on industry standard guides and IMPACT content and converted to ASIST quotes for communication with customer
  • Accurately plan and communicate all safety inspection appointments to the workshop
  • Follow up with parts department when parts are available, to schedule job into the shop times to complete job in day planner
  • Confirm that all resources are available in advance of scheduled work (labour and parts)

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Post secondary diploma; minimum two (2) years experience in the Heavy Duty Truck Service environment
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Related Red Seal endorsement an asset
  • Knowledgeable of medium and heavy-duty truck products
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal with strong attention to details and organization
  • Knowledge of heavy truck and automotive related administrative software
