Dawson Group is looking for a permanent, full-time Business Analyst, reporting to the Director of Information Technology. The successful applicant will support and drive adoption of business applications across the Dawson Group. Your base location will be Kamloops, B.C. and will require some travel throughout our great province.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Through on-the-job training, become proficient on the configuration, administration, and usage on business applications used within the Dawson Group
  • Build relationships and work closely with staff / users of the target applications, to understand their jobs and needs, how the systems can serve them best
  • Analyze business processes to identify any gaps and opportunities for improvement, collaborate on solutions
  • Act as a central point of contact to users for the application(s) and provide technical expertise to plan, design, implement and test application changes/solutions ¨
  • Develop business process documentation to communicate how applications can/should be used to satisfy our standard business practices ¨
  • Lead the delivery of new modules/features, enhancements, new/modified processes within the application(s)
  • Provide training assistance and ongoing business application support for users, including the development of training materials
  • As needed, administer configuration update in application(s) and communicate the changes
  • On occasion and as required, assist business users with other computer-related questions or issues (tier 1 support)

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Diploma or degree in an Information Technology, Systems or Business, related discipline
  • 3-5 years related relevant work experience working in an IT, software-support, or business analyst focused role
  • Experience documenting and analyzing business processes
  • Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools to communicate findings/ideas
  • Experience and comfort working with business software systems – working in a role of administration or support for an ERP or CRM system would be considered a strong asset
  • Project management experience or certificate would be considered a strong asset
  • Highly organized; capable of coordinating tasks, stakeholders and requests
  • Experience and comfort leading meetings and effectively communicating ideas / presenting to a group
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently; highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of employees and departments, with multiple tasks or initiatives
  • Experience with troubleshooting and resolving basic IT personal computing, printer or phone issues
  • Eagerness to continually learn within the role, to improve the way we work within Dawson Group IT
