IRL International Truck Centres in Kelowna participated in a Pushor Mitchell United Way Day of Caring® on Tuesday.  This event is the first of two events our Kelowna location has committed to this month.

The United Way Day of Caring program matches local volunteer groups with community-based projects hosted by non-profit organizations. This project involved painting the art room for the Canadian Mental Health Association – changing the room from beige to a nice, soothing grey.

IRL volunteers Gary Cooper, Kaitlyn Campbell, Rav Matharoo and Rhonda Bampton, along with United Way representative, Jeremy, also learned more about the CMHA organization and the increase in our youth’s mental health problems.

The alarming number – that 1 in 3 youth are currently struggling – along with the gratitude felt by the United Way & CMHA reps, left the team feeling not only proud to contribute, but each of them also said that they took something away from their time there.
